The review found several intrinsic factors as well as extrinsic factors that affect the health of Latinos. The intrinsic factors include: limited knowledge of preventive health, access to and utilization of health care services, acculturation, and Latino-specific health beliefs. The extrinsic factors are: socio-economic conditions, ethnicity and SES, and lack of economic opportunities and equal access to health care.
